Britax Emblem Review

Being a parent brings about a ton of joy, excitement, and love for your new family member. When you’re ready to move your little one around you want to be sure they’re secure with a safe car seat.

The Britax Emblem car seat is a well equipped, entry level car seat. Being entry level doesn’t mean it’s low quality. This car seat is Britax’s version of entry level, which in my opinion out performs most car seats in the market at the same price point. Many parents love that Britax has an affordable car seat on the market. Overall, this car seat offers great value for the price.

Ease of Use

When we got a chance try this product out it was super easy to use. The installation was truly a breeze. The push button LATCH connectors has built in lock offs so you don’t have to struggle a bit. The latch on connectors are simply pushed into the anchors. Once you hear the click, you’re good to go.

No Re-threading – A Life Saver

Britax really improved their entry level car seat. Before this car seat was introduced, the Britax G4.1 convertible car seat came with re-threading. The re-threading made it much harder to adjust the car seat length. Britax really listened to their client base on this one. So now we get a better entry level car seat from Britax at an affordable price. You really can’t go wrong with that.

This car seat was designed with safety in mind first before anything else. It comes equipped with 2 layers of side impact protection. It is also reinforced with a steel frame. Of coarse a steel frame makes this car seat somewhat heavy, but like I said, safety first.

The Britax  also has an impact absorbing base. The base is very simple to use. You simply click the button and pull the car seat out. Although this type of base is common in most car seats, it’s nice to have at this lower price point.

Rear and Forward-Facing

This car seat is a convertible car seat. It’ll suit your little one from when they are born up until 65 pounds! That means this car seat can last for up to 7 years. Now that’s a pretty good use of money if you ask me.

The Britax Emblem can be used rear-facing from 5-40 pounds and forward facing from 20-65 pounds. You want to switch from rear to forward when your baby seems like rear facing is no longer comfortable. This depends on their height and overall build as they grow.

Easy to Clean

This car seat comes with a cover that can be removed in case your baby spills breakfast. We know this feature will come in handy for most parents. It really helps that you can remove the cover to wash it. I can’t imagine trying to scrub the car seat by hand if and when it gets dirty.

Britax Emblem Vs. Allegiance

So what’s the difference between the Britax Emblem and the Britax Allegiance? To make it simple the Britax Emblem comes with an extra layer of impact side protection. So basically, the Britax Emblem is safer than the Allegiance. It’s also a bit more expensive.

Another key difference between the Allegiance and the Emblem is that the Emblem looks a bit better. That, of course, is our own personal opinion. You will have to judge for yourself.

Both the Emblem and the Allegiance share the following features:

  • 10 position harness adjuster with headrest
  • Side Impact Protection (The Emblem has an extra layer of side protection)
  • Easy on-off LATCH connectors
  • Easy Removable Cover
